wher did everybody go? Methinks it’s late but not that late … let’s change the time to Eastern so folks like me don’t get confused, though I like in the Central Zone.

  2. 2 TheSouthernJackAss... December 8, 2007 at 12:46 am

A little birdie just told TheJackAss that some folks on the “evil blog” were referring to journalist jimmy smith and TheJackAss as being HOF’ers…and that a certain egocentric blog proprietor was waxing a bit bathetic as to his being the first recipient of the esteemed Wurlitzer…among other things…

Fly away now little birdie…fly away…

  3. 3 TheSouthernJackAss... December 8, 2007 at 12:48 am

Doggone CL…how did you manage to get the time set correctly?…

  4. 4 journalistjimmy December 8, 2007 at 9:00 am

this journalist is happy to be blogging here. sja was right! bloggers are calling for the old days over at the ajc braves blog. not going to happen. jimmy smith has standards and they don’t include little frankster.

now, baseball . . . famous chris chambliss is now a hitting coach at richmond. can do something for pete orr? thorman? better to bring chris chambliss to atlanta and work with hitters who cannot make contact and move runners over.

now, wurlitzer . . . can be awarded on the new blog? or should a new award be created? and tee shirts . . . really going to happen?

and baby seal . . . never again to nashville. came back with a cowboy hat and is singing country music. met a girl there. may be in love. ate cheese in the press room. bad habits galore.

  5. 5 journalistjimmy December 8, 2007 at 9:21 am

spiffy new photo of jimmy smith did not appear on last post. trying again.

  6. 6 journalistjimmy December 8, 2007 at 9:22 am

oh, the humanity! looks like jimmy smith only without a face.

  7. 7 CL December 8, 2007 at 9:38 am

    Gooooood morning, gang!!

“looks like jimmy smith only without a face” 🙂 Did you upload an image, js???

SJA, I found it at Dashboard-Options. EST will be -5. Their instructions are rather muddy.

Yes, I would say that certain individuals are being missed on the Dark Star Blog. And a certain individual is desperately trying to patch cracks while building his ‘presence.’ It’s funny but it’s really sad.

Haven’t had time yet to check out all the news. Back later!

  8. 8 savannahguy December 8, 2007 at 10:08 am

Just submitted a comment and nothing. Oh, my. Banned? Already?

  9. 9 journalistjimmy December 8, 2007 at 10:19 am

testing. testing. testing. better looking than savannah guy. why not appearing? oh, the humanity!

  10. 10 journalistjimmy December 8, 2007 at 10:20 am

oh, the humanity! that is jimmy smith! forgot to smile. dark background. will work on this and get it corrected.

  11. 11 savannahguy December 8, 2007 at 10:24 am

why can’t post? did jimmy smith block me?

  12. 12 CL December 8, 2007 at 10:24 am

Jimmy, the “instructions” say it sometimes takes a little while for it to appear. Yesterday, while editing, I thought I had accidentally wiped out everyone’s avatars. None appeared. None! Oh, the embarrassment!! But then they popped up again one by one……

We’ll get the hang of this thing yet! 🙂

  13. 13 journalistjimmy December 8, 2007 at 10:25 am

now, that’s not right. must try again.

  14. 14 savannahguy December 8, 2007 at 10:30 am

Journalist Jimmy has no face! Oh, the humanity! Lew can help. He has crayons, pencils and face paints. If Lew would agree to do journalists portrait for the blog, would journalist then BE a Wurlitzer? Music man? Hurdy Gurdy and all? Ebony and ivory teeth?

  15. 15 savannahguy December 8, 2007 at 10:33 am

Oh, my. I’m having an identity crisis. First Osprey, then Albert, then bird, then, uh, man. With Albert it just goes to show, a bad haircut can make anyone look stupid.

  16. 16 savannahguy December 8, 2007 at 10:36 am

I was trying to add a link for Journalist Bob, but my posts wouldn’t go through. Is this blog jealous of other links? Could be. Hmmm. Is there something special one must do to post a link?

  17. 17 savannahguy December 8, 2007 at 10:38 am

foiled again!!! Oh, well sirree Bob, I’ll keep tryin’.

  18. 18 savannahguy December 8, 2007 at 10:39 am

Now another Osprey. Oh, the humility!

  19. 19 CL December 8, 2007 at 10:39 am

Savannah, why does Bob need a link?

  20. 20 savannahguy December 8, 2007 at 10:42 am

To send him to a website that demonstrates how he might use all those old computer parts lying around. Serious business it is.

  21. 21 journalistjimmy December 8, 2007 at 11:01 am

well, that’s better. did jimmy smith look black in that other picture? oh, well . . . journalist is not sure jimmy smith will stick with the current photo -other options available. handsome, right? and loaded with baseball knowledge – just holding back. and if jimmy smith is HOF with sja as sja reports then must be like pete rose.

now, results of huntin’ trip . . . bagged two blue worms. one a thirty pounder. signed and in the mail to carolina lady.

and whither the other bloggers from the other blog (chop chick r.i.p.)? can transfer over here and be treated well. and jimmy smith should have copyrighted some jimmy smith material now appearing elsewhere. oh, the humanity! toes are not to be trifled with (copyright pending). and whither the your and idiots?

and frank. will frank blog here? perhaps frank can be lured with mentions on this blog. frank, frank, frank, frank, frank, frank, frank. french? nah.
    furter? nah.

and who is wethinks? cannot figure this out.

and now, jimmy smith’s new girlfriend. that’s right, girlfriend. journalist will reveal more as soon as journalist is comfortable doing so.

and ajc . . . standards are slipping. famed old journalists ralph mcgill and piney woods pete would not approve of the current product. good hip hop coverage, though. baseball? read the macon telegraph. and now, words to another song are being prepared. back later.

  22. 22 savannahguy December 8, 2007 at 11:09 am

Is the Toe Poem contest still underway? I’m holding bronze so far but could easily be stripped of that. First and second place still open? Tee shirt to winner? Rabbits foot? Wendy’s chili? Oh, the humanity!

  23. 23 TheSouthernJackAss... December 8, 2007 at 11:27 am

TheJackAss has again been visited by the little birdie…little birdie reports that the “evil blog” is now looking like a square dance…where everyone showed up except the fiddle player…

  24. 24 journalistjimmy December 8, 2007 at 11:28 am

yes, savannah guy, the toe poem contest is still underway. that other blog had some troubles just as the contest was getting underway and some momentum was lost. stepped on our toes so to speak. well, that blog is now defunct. chop chick blog that is. got our own chick over here. and more coming. soon, choppinmama and flbravesgirl and carroll (girl, right?)
and what of carroll rogers? wants to meet the bloggers HERE? oh, the humanity! somebody will not like that! soon, this will be the foremost braves blog and will be mentioned on espn by famous joe morgan (what? fox? where, baby seal?). and now back to the toe poem contest . . .

should mention toes, baseball, and orthotics. toe cap? can imagine one ugly cap. like the old pirates caps.

  25. 25 TheSouthernJackAss... December 8, 2007 at 11:36 am

    Much much better blog…user-friendly too!…

  26. 26 TheSouthernJackAss... December 8, 2007 at 11:45 am

CL…if anyone is interested…here is the link for a pretty good site as far as MLB rumors are concerned…http://www.prosportsdaily.com/mlb/mlb-rumors.html

  27. 27 CL December 8, 2007 at 11:50 am

Thanks, SJA! Will check it out! 🙂

  28. 28 CL December 8, 2007 at 11:56 am

SJA, I added that site to our BlogRoll list.

jjs! Looks just like you!! Great!

  29. 29 CL December 8, 2007 at 12:01 pm

    Rows of toes

    toes need hosed

  30. 30 journalistjimmy December 8, 2007 at 12:03 pm

no one is going to call this journalist on the pete orr mention earlier? yes, pete orr, a bobby cox favorite, was dropped from the roster last month – but who does not believe that pete orr will find pete orr’s way back to atlanta? delta, right? maybe not, though. new bobby cox favorite may be not-yet-famous gorkys. nick-name? gorkys. “c’mon gorky, kid, c’mon gorky.” what position will gorky play? outfield. can be the new andruw, only gorkys. is the “s” pronounced? if gorky and chino are seen together will it be gorky and porky? and will mccann lose baby fat? and what is the solution to mccann’s defensive lapses? new cup. cannot explain on the blog but should prove useful. new glove might help, too. bigger, better, glove in front of ball. and pitches in the dirt . . . should ask for no more of those. and journalist better lay off mccann or no red velvet cake. and how is salty doing? can say frank real fast 3 times? frank, frank, frank.

  31. 31 CL December 8, 2007 at 12:12 pm

Orr is gone? Boy, I am behind! What will Bobby do???

It appears that Mrs Chino is a superb cook. Saw her photo recently somewhere. She and Mr Chino are a matched set. It is only important that they are happy together.

  32. 32 savannahguy December 8, 2007 at 12:14 pm

Toes are such ignored little things

Overlooked as long as they are happy,

All they need is a foot in which to cling

a comfy sock and a shoe that’s snappy.

Nary a kind word is uttered of toes

Until they are stubbed and in pain

Bunions also cause pain I suppose,

Just like with, uh, Larry Wayne.

So next time you admire those that run well

Credit those socked and sweaty blokes

Don’t harshly judge them by their smell

They provide journalists with great jokes.

  33. 33 savannahguy December 8, 2007 at 12:24 pm

Oh, my…journalist Jimmy has stitches. On forehead and chin. Hunting accident? Baby seal clubbing journalist now for eating Flbravesgirl Red Velvet cake? Mr. Jimmy also needs to go out in the sun more. So white. But wait until stitches are removed. Won’t scar as much that way.

And no hair. Is journalist bald? Nothing wrong with that. Kojak and Yul Brenner were bald too. Many bald men are actors. Journalists too.

  34. 34 savannahguy December 8, 2007 at 12:42 pm

Must away now. We’re going to buy a Christmas tree. Yes, they now have Christmas trees again. Ran out of Holiday Trees it seems. Good. No matter, we prefer the old fashioned type that you get yourself to celebrate, uh, Christmas. That’s why they call them that, right? Legal holiday.

We’re going to do it the old fashioned, traditional American way. Load up the axe, small saw, gloves, heavy coats, hats and all, then harness your old Chestnut mare to pull the tree sleigh and go walking out through the woods in the snow covered forest. So beautiful there and many lovely trees. You look to the right, the left and see trees all around. Winter wonderland.

Then, you put your faithful horse back in the barn, give her some apples and hay, put the tools away, remove the hats and coats, get in the pickup truck, turn on the air conditioner and go to Wal-Mart and purchase a beautiful Douglas Fir on this lovely 75 degree December afternoon. I love old fashioned Christmas tree hunting in Savannah. Egg Nog around the fireplace tonight. Sure to snow. Now, where is that snow DVD?

  35. 35 CL December 8, 2007 at 12:50 pm

Excellent, SG! Reading your post, I was wondering where you were going to find snow there on the coast! 🙂

I too noticed the change in the appearance of our jjs! Was redhead. Now looks remarkably like a baseball. Oh, my!

  36. 37 journalistjimmy December 8, 2007 at 11:56 pm

    oh, toe
    oh, woe
    oh. toe hurts so
    oh, no
    santa’s toe
    ho, ho
    sore toe

    beautiful poem. crying is permissable.

  37. 38 nolimitsfreethinker December 9, 2007 at 1:45 am

    What happened?…

  38. 39 Bob, journalist December 9, 2007 at 2:35 am

I must agree that Most Honorable Southern and Jimmy Smith should be charter members in the HOF … they’ve long been in mine … since April 2, 2002, following a very long post from someone named Bob!

    TheSouthernJackAss: Hey B(!)b, Are you going to publish that book…longwinded moron…get a life!!!…GO Mariners!!!…

    jimmy smith, ugandan journalist

bob, bob, bob, journalist jimmy smith must respond. when you use word, “algorithm” in explanation of bobby cox decision to take jordan over jurries, journalist realize you not get it yet. bobby not likely get that one either. decision have nothing to do with country brown, earl mann, redneck, whitlow wyatt, leo, ron roberts, dizzy dean, or francis rwama (famous ugandan piano player/tuner). have nothing to do with romans, boston/milwaukee, chattanooga lookouts, or attack in sandlot. jimmy smith clarify in way only journalist can do, bobby picked old guy (not a first baseman) who had a good spring over the young first baseman who had a great spring. illogical to some, okay with others. as for truth, justice, and american way (bob not superhero, right?) journalist loves america very much. much bush country in uganda, so jimmy smith give you that one. kampala radio good treat. ever catch morning drive show with ron rwanda? bob interesting man with interesting post. welcome to blog. still, have jordan on bench instead of young man to hit high, fastball in late innings. bob never make journalist understand that one. too bad country brown dead.

  39. 40 savannahguy December 9, 2007 at 7:59 am

If Christmas shopping we must go

    When parking, please just know

If finding a spot makes you cheat

‘cause a handicapped spot saves ten feet

you’ll wind up with an expensive tow.

  40. 41 savannahguy December 9, 2007 at 8:00 am

is there a Toe Poem contest rule about spelling, uh…toes?

  41. 42 savannahguy December 9, 2007 at 11:30 am

If a hoof is a domesticated horse foot that typically wears a shoe,

Then we must also deduce that toes are included; there must be a few.

And if that logic and reason is not accepted by the poetry contest judge

I must then bend those rules, shamelessly lobby and give a little nudge

To be fair to horse feet, broaden the species and enter this poem too.

It’s fun to recall the innocent old times and talking horses like Mr. Ed,

We kids watched him and laughed, then took our imaginations to bed.

There’s enough bad news in the world, due to man’s inhumanity to man,

All the more reason for comic heroes, eloquent equines or Ed Sullivan,

yet life’s “big shoe” is tragedy to some, I’ll just choose comedy instead.

Speaking of news, Mr. Ed has a sleuth pal who reports with a post

And as some of you know, Mr. Fly hangs with the guy on the coast.

So if you continue to peruse the blog of which so many have fled,

you’ll surely discover there, a thirsty palomino American Saddlebred

who roams the range, yet his heart is with our Carolina Lady host.

  42. 43 thesouthernjackass December 9, 2007 at 1:36 pm

    Whither everyone?…anyone?…

  43. 44 thesouthernjackass December 9, 2007 at 4:33 pm

TheJackAss once felt sad that he had no blog…until he saw a blog that had no JackAss…

  44. 45 journalistjimmy December 9, 2007 at 4:35 pm

this journalist is now whither. much work to do on Christmas tree. baby seal is decorating.

now, toe poems . . . that last one knocked savannah guy out of 3rd place. no, not now 2nd and 3rd – knocked out of 3rd. not sure how it works.

cowboy boots = pointed toes. pointed toes = toe confinement. toe confinement = toe distress. toe distress = disabled list.

now, this blog site must be announced to all braves bloggers. hidden gem. loads quick. better spelling. better manners. character counts. good braves knowledge here and nice little pictures beside name. good likeness of jackass, right? only, front view instead of what was expected.

jimmy smith is going for a best of cox award. that’s right – best of cox. $1,000 to the winner – never mentioned elsewhere. yes, $1,000 for best of cox. should be easy to dethrone the current champion (never shoulda been a contendah). only trouble is mark davis – could be a problem. beautiful writing and much prose. rhymes with toes. if journalist wins best of cox on a non-cox blog will journalist be invited to awards banquet (canned ham, cheese products, co-cola, beanie weenies (beanies weenie? not sure.)

need a ruling. beanie weenies or beanies weenie?

and hk, a graph is needed for the new blog. who is the smartest brave? still chipper? uh, someone else? could it be, you know, hudson?

and lillibridge should go shoulder to shoulder across the uniform shirt. not saltalamacchia but still pretty long name.

and this about salty from the dallas news: Rangers General manager Jon Daniels said Friday that he foresees Saltalamacchia, 22, as a full-time catcher next season.

and scribe was here for a time. hope scribe will post some news here for all to see and discuss.

and where is walter today? playing ball? 77 degrees in atlanta and people buying Christmas trees. confusing to this journalist.

  45. 46 journalistjimmy December 9, 2007 at 4:49 pm

frank coming over in a few minutes to see journalist and baby seal. called a few minutes ago. did jimmy smith mention frank? frank, frank, frank, frank, frank. may help put star on tree. not sure. should be able to break many stories with frank for pal. hope frank would not mislead journalist. hope frank would not expect journalistic favors. party line? oh, the humanity! shame! disgrace! worst of cox. still, jimmy smith can remain impartial even though the cheese tray in frank’s room is never empty. think frank might be tricking jimmy smith?

and where is famous blogger, hillbilly? not trifling elsewhere, right? blogging here with journalist and sja and (anybody else here right now?).

must get a lonely blog host. no one here is lonely. reminds jimmy smith of an old bobby vinton favorite . . .

    Lonely, I’m Mr. Lonely,
I have nobody for my own.
I’m so lonely, I’m Mr. Lonely,
wish I had someone to call on the phone.

    I’m a journalist, a lonely journalist,
Away from home through no wish of my own.
    That’s why I’m lonely, I’m Mr. Lonely,
I wish that I could go back home.

    Ham, never a ham,
I get no ham in the mail.
    I’ve been forgotten, yeah, forgotten,
Oh how I wonder how is it I failed.

    I’m a journalist, a lonely journalist,
Away from home through no wish of my own.
    That’s why I’m lonely, I’m Mr. Lonely,
I wish that I could go back home

  46. 47 CL December 9, 2007 at 7:02 pm

In comparison, it’s clear that this Lady will never win the toe poetry contest! 🙂

  47. 48 mrgil December 9, 2007 at 7:19 pm

Wow, a second page….. No wonder I could not find anyone. It was like being the last poster on the blog. Kind of like everyone sneaking off while you are asleep. Still, better than everyone sneaking in….. Home invasion?

Been a good day here, mild temperatures, had great fun today watching the wife chase down our last chicken. Anyone remember that Rocky movie? This old hen is the last of a flock of 30. I don’t have the heart to have her as the guest of honor for Sunday dinner but she has become quite the pest. Anyway, she has managed to outwit every varmint and hawk in the neighborhood. I have let her free range and she has ranged up to the front porch. She unfortunately leaves the most unpleasant calling cards on the welcome mat. We just had to toe the line somewhere….

  48. 49 thesouthernjackass December 9, 2007 at 8:04 pm

Little birdie tells TheJackAss that O’Brien has made the statement that all AJC blogs are automatically shut down after two weeks from date of posting…funny that O’Brien would even concern himself with this subject…however, little birdie was not able to explain to TheJackAss why the author of any AJC blog with 393 posts would be so carelessly incompetent as to not be aware of this fact…would not post any follow up replies within that two week period…and possibly be so negligent as to not even read their own blog…thus seeing the need to create a new blog…oh well…maybe the AJC can afford such poor business practices…gives new meaning to customer care…

  49. 50 CL December 9, 2007 at 8:32 pm

Hey, Gil!! Glad I checked the other page; I’m so glad you’re here! 🙂

SJA, you said a mouthful! ajc is missing the opportunity to have two successful blogs; would be great for their business, you’d think. I can’t believe a real person would neglect her blog as CC has done. I’d be dancing in the street if I had that kind of response. Interesting thing, that blog!

  50. 51 journalistjimmy December 9, 2007 at 8:43 pm

now, macon telegraph for braves news. beat writer is a fellow named percy sledgehog. top-flight journalsit. truthful. honest. boy scout manners. cannot tell a lie. helps anne cox chambers cross the street. corner to corner, so to speak. not coxian a bit.

and, frankster did not wish this subscriber, advertiser, shareholder to blog there anymore – “doing fine without” this journalist. well, jimmy smith is doing fine blogging here. better blog than chop chick – and a very nice lady running things here. good character, too.

now, tatiana honey was in touch with jimmy smith this morning to ask the whereabouts of a blogger named julia. alas, jimmy smith does not know much about julia – only that julia enjoys a good sandwich. tatiana honey wishes to blog here but tatiana honey is most unwelcome for tatiana honey is a googan. googans are banned from most blogs and with good reason.

and baby seal is now singing with a barbershop quartet. yes, that’s right! singing with a barbershop quartet. last night, baby seal’s group was singing for a small audience of journalists when one journalist burst into flames! not really – but wouldn’t want to sit next to him. pants on fire. something like that.

and jimmy smith hopes other bloggers will find this site. easy to find chop chick’s blog (unless you are chop chick) but not so easy to find this one. how will we get out the word?

and whither me timbers! laroche is still a pirate! hope laroche remembers. and who will forget the laroche radio show? entertainment at its finest!

now, gotta go check the tank at the aquarium. something is making the fish sick. remember, tom glavine has something left in the tank. could it be?

and cold ringfinger and cold ring-toe (can’t explain this must figure it out for self) sometimes occur together. and who will be the official sock supplier for the new season? 40-man roster and need 41 pair of socks. pears?

and now, fowl poll. what happened to that last chicken? was it fair and balanced? could have been foul pole just as easily.

and beanie weenies? or beanies weenie? does no one know?

finally, baseball . . . the mitchell report will be released over Christmas and will be shameful. shameful. only lovers of baseball will be able to endure.

  51. 52 CL December 9, 2007 at 8:56 pm

Gil made a great post on p1 and I’m taking the liberty to repost it here. Thanks, Gil!

    mrgil Says:
    December 9, 2007 at 7:52 am edit

Ah, good morning, my back has told me it is time to get up for a while. Some interesting things from over night. I was doing a little research on the “Great Eight”, the term the Richmond papers used to describe the ‘93 Richmond club. That team had Chipper, Javy, Ryan Klesko, Mike Mordaci. Tony Tarasco, Melvin Nieves plus a couple more future big leaguers (Eddie Perez). Grady Little was the coach.

In trying to find the roster for that team I ran upon a quote from Russ Nixon from 1988 saying how Braves fans should have faith in the organization. That was the year the team lost 100 games. he said that the Braves should start to vie for championships by 1991, just a soon as their young pitching developed.

Another interesting quote I read yesterday was from Jim Bowden of the Nationals. He said that a team’s pitching staff should be built around starters who can go 6 and 7 innings, otherwise your relief corp is not really relevant.

Looks like our old fried Johnny Estrada is on the trading block already. After the Mets picked up Schnider he became excess. If the Nationals don’t sign LoDuca, they may try for Estrada. I am wondering what Estrada did while with the Braves to get him in Bobby’s doghouse?

  52. 53 journalistjimmy December 9, 2007 at 9:06 pm

maybe something like, “gee, skip, that’s the most disgusting thing i’ve ever seen. keep your fingers out of your nose if you expect me to handle the ball after you’ve rubbed it up.”

    not sure, but could be.

of course, gives the ball movement. something chuck james could use a little more of. still foreign substances are banned. that’s just snot baseball. oh, the humanity! slip of the tongue!

  53. 54 CL December 9, 2007 at 9:09 pm

    jjs, that’s just funny!

  54. 55 CL December 9, 2007 at 9:10 pm

Wow. Don’t you just love the fast post and load times on this thing??

  55. 56 savannahguy December 9, 2007 at 9:12 pm

    “just snot baseball.”

funny for a white faced guy with a round head and a face full of stitches

  56. 57 thesouthernjackass December 9, 2007 at 9:14 pm

There is no 5 minute delay…to keep TheJackAss away…

  57. 58 CL December 9, 2007 at 9:18 pm

Hope some of the others will email. It’s an awkward way to do it, but I couldn’t think of anything else that would be allowed to stay posted over there. A link would have been axed immediately.

  58. 59 journalistjimmy December 9, 2007 at 9:18 pm

original picture of this journalist too scary for the blog. had to go with the baseball. also considered where’s waldo photo but seemed a bit foolish. now, looking forward to seeing what other bloggers will use for photos. grinch, for instance. hmmm….

and flbravesgirl – red velvet cake, perhaps?

lew? a moose? turkey? hartebeest? lew can draw the hartebeest.

and what if some braves players find this blog? tall enough to blog with them. must ask frank to invite them. spelling not a big problem. uh, that;s gud.

  59. 60 savannahguy December 9, 2007 at 9:19 pm

    **what about bold?**

  60. 61 savannahguy December 9, 2007 at 9:19 pm

    guess snot.

  62. 63 CL December 9, 2007 at 9:20 pm

SG, haven’t found a way to do that yet. Will try to find out!

  63. 64 CL December 9, 2007 at 9:24 pm

SJA, maybe on tomorrow’s blog. dob said he would put up a new one – even before I intruded on his airspace. Saw that ChoppinMama posted, hope she’ll join us here. I think Grinch has FBGs address, but he’s with the elder Grinch tonight (had gall bladder surgery).

It may take us a little while. In the beginning, even with the horsepower of ajc, the Braves blog was getting only 30-some posts a WEEK.

Don’t know who they are but we’ve had 380+ hits here already.

  64. 65 CL December 9, 2007 at 9:26 pm

    oops, excuse me! 363 hits.

  65. 66 journalistjimmy December 9, 2007 at 9:33 pm

it would be in poor taste for us to use the ajc beat writer braves blog to lure bloggers over here. remember, shaun did that.

still, more toe journalism can be found here than in the entire ajc. bloggers seeking news of toes will know to look us up. google, perhaps?

what would happen if one googled “toes” +”myrtle beach”? oh, the humanity! don’t go there! will never know.

and pie traynor. what a great name for a baseball player! had andruw remained an atlanta brave perhaps pie jones would have been a good nickname. pie, shake, burger, fries, jones.

and there were a number of people blogging with us before the demise of the chop chick blog. was chop chick an agent? spy vs. spy? already alfred e neuman is pictured here. could it be chop chick posting here instead of savannah guy? undercover?

and from what this journalist is being told there may have been a few “readers” of the chop chick blog that were not posters there. hmmm…. thought so.

and did journalist bob ever get back from the winter meetings? anyone tell bob the meetings are over? still in a room somewhere eating cheese?

closing down the chop chick blog was a dirty deed. better to become a strong blog here on our own.

  66. 67 thesouthernjackass December 9, 2007 at 9:39 pm

Could also sneak a link in on Bradley, Moore, Schultz or Bisher’s blog…whenever they have one that is active…since they hardly ever check back in…

  67. 68 savannahguy December 9, 2007 at 9:43 pm

“could it be chop chick posting here instead of savannah guy? undercover?”

Can that be said on a respectable blog? Savannah Guy under the covers with Chop Chick? Have mercy. Would not even consider it. Happily married. Even thirsty and three sheets to the wind would not be an excuse for such a coverup. Besides, she wears a veil. Pershian? Saudi? Acne?

Are you just horsing around? Was baby seal wearing a Michael Vick shock collar? So many questions. Hmm….

  68. 69 thesouthernjackass December 9, 2007 at 9:55 pm

Not many questions in the cranium of TheJackAss…little birdie says many new bloggers being welcomed to the ranks of the “evil blog”…prizes being handed out…awards too…some wearing veils…some not…poor taste?…no taste?…

  69. 70 CL December 9, 2007 at 9:59 pm

Hey, y’all! Bob J has a blog up! He calls it Baseball’s Magic Moments; I’ve posted a link under our Blogroll.

Another favorite blogger here has a blog and he’s welcome to tell us if he likes. I’d love to add it to the Blogroll, too! 🙂

  70. 71 savannahguy December 9, 2007 at 10:07 pm

Southern…to each his own. That’s all. No evil, just different.

Besides, If you read it or post on it, you are there. Do or do not. It’s still a “hit”.

Let not your heart be troubled. There’s a place for everyone. This is a good place.

  71. 72 CL December 9, 2007 at 10:28 pm

Grinch says he will be joining us as soon as his Dad is released probably tomorrow. He’s been having trouble registering or he would have been here sooner.

  72. 73 journalistjimmy December 9, 2007 at 11:35 pm

registered a .075 last night. slowed him down a bit 🙂

and new prizes being awarded? tee shirts perhaps? never fall for that one. could buy some shirts with the $1,000 prize money. throw ’em a fish. what? what, baby seal? just a figure of speech. not really throwing fish.

and ’tis the season. imagine mrs. bobby cox trying to open a package wrapped by bobby cox! nasty! can tie a bow? no need for tape! oh, the humanity!

and nice dinner in the dining room. stuck under the table. under the chairs. not at all appetizing. never let bobby cox carve. not really giblets in the gravy. not really raisins in the pie (mince meat).

and red velvet cake – not devils food but good. and is that other blog really the bbq blog or did bbq come over here with us? some good bloggers there. hope they find us. like finding the best bbq – have to look around some.

and now, a story . . . a famous hunter was a huntin’ and forgot his gun. a short little deer came up and, noticing the hunter’s predicament, walked right up to the hunter.

“uh, you better be glad i don’t have my uh, gun.”

“and you sir, better be glad i don’t have my gun.”

“uh, that’s silly. deer don’t carry guns.”

“but, i’m no deer. i’m a baseball writer in a deer suit.”

“uh, i’m not falling for that. baseball writers can’t talk like that.”

  73. 74 CL December 9, 2007 at 11:52 pm

jjs, you know, that would explain why he couldn’t log in……. 🙂

  74. 75 CL December 9, 2007 at 11:54 pm

And you better bet that BBQ came with us!!! Eastern NC BBQ!

  75. 76 CL December 10, 2007 at 12:43 am

Boy, have I got a great surprise for you guys!!! Somebody special will be joining us shortly!! 🙂

  76. 77 mrgil December 10, 2007 at 8:19 am

Good morning all, Looks like Berta, our free ranging chicken, has flown the coop once more. Well, if she wants to take her chances with the Lynx that has been roaming the neighborhood then that is between her and the Lynx.

Now foul poles, Doug Clark hit the right field foul pole in the final playoff game of the year for Richmond. The right and left field poles are adorned with the letters F O W L as a promotion done by Chic Fil La. Any time a home team player hits a homerun of the pole then everyone in attendance gets a free Chick Fil A sandwich.

Interesting part was when he hit that homer, it struck the F in FOWL and jarred it loose so it swung upside down. Thus hitting the “F” out of that pole.

It is my humble opinion that Doug Clark is actually a better player than Brandon Jones but he is only going to get a chance to play if the Braves need a sixth outfielder. Jones ha more speed and a greater potential than Clark. Doug is just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

  77. 78 mrgil December 10, 2007 at 8:23 am

CL….. If you re categorize the blog to Sports and and Braves baseball you might make it a little easier to find. Could also list it under Medicine for Podiatrists.

  78. 79 journalistjimmy December 10, 2007 at 8:39 am

jimmy smith, carolina lady? is it jimmy smith? if bbq comes here then that other blog will be left with nothing but cowboy hat music. and some baseball . . . but we will have plenty of baseball when you-know-who starts reporting here full-time. inside stuff. unbiased. untainted. from reliable souses. and whither our contributing journalists today?

and sja, has some good posts already. looking forward to a reunion of sja and rr and the goats. keeps a blog healthy. and rr must still be sore with jimmy smith. not really jimmy smith’s fault (sounds familiar?). blame it on google. never know what a google search will reveal.

and now, calabash seafood. not much has been said about calabash seafood since the unfortunate blogging incident. and that is a shame for calabash seafood is tasty. not something to be ashamed of (sorry, scribe). this can also be the calabash blog if all agree.

and what will be the official vehicle of this blog? harley? old gal riding on back? not a chance. journalist thinks pickup truck. can write songs about pickup trucks. and dogs. and girlfriends. very entertaining.

and will carolina lady please begin the next blog with song lyrics? perhaps something pertaining to oh, say, baseball. several songs come to mind.

put jimmy smith in coach, jimmy smith is ready to play. take jimmy smith out to the ballgame. and old favorite, baseball, hot dogs, APPLE PIE, and jimmy smith.

now, journalist is going to seek another blog photo. last one was too dark and jimmy smith appeared fearsome. not so, journalist is mild-mannered reporter. wait! forget that! giving away secrets.

and whither all the other bloggers? must find a way to introduce this blog to others.

alas, lance cormier, hardly knew ye.

  79. 80 mrgil December 10, 2007 at 8:40 am

To the thesouthernjackass, Only problem with posting your address for everyone is you have to take everyone who shows up. There are some you don’t want to know where you are…..

  80. 81 mrgil December 10, 2007 at 9:20 am

Jimmy, We got to know Lance a little too well while here in Richmond, Not to worry, he will play somewhere next season. Could be a Mudhen, you never know…

  81. 82 arkansashillbilly December 10, 2007 at 9:27 am

Back to the daily grind. Looks like a pretty lively weekend here at the B&S Blog. Savannah Guy,…not a baby in the picture. A buck I harvested (but did not autograph). I tried to change pictures because that one is so hard to see, but Friday afternoon got the better of me. I’ll work on that later.

  82. 83 CL December 10, 2007 at 9:39 am

Gil, good suggestion and I’ve changed it to Baseball. Thanks!

I’m learning as I go. Totally new venture for me and I need all the help I can get! 🙂

  83. 84 savannahguy December 10, 2007 at 9:42 am

    Fall Leaves and Leaves Fall

Winter is upon us and the mice are all fat

Most trees have shed and left quite a mat.

    Years disappear with increasing brevity,

we’ll surely need levity, a rake and a cat.

Brevity as we know is the soul of wit,

some folks seem so naturally good at it.

They can be clever without many words,

along with talent, they know when to quit.

Writing succinctly is really quite hard

for a gabby fellow who’s certainly no bard.

It takes lots of time to craft little rhymes,

and rake all those leaves in the yard.

  84. 85 CL December 10, 2007 at 9:53 am

Good morning, Savannah!! You and jimmy leave me in the dust with your poetry! I managed all of 3 little lines! 🙂

  85. 86 CL December 10, 2007 at 9:55 am

Hey, everybody – yesterday I mentioned Bob J’s new blog “Baseball’s Magic Moments” – and today I’d like to introduce you to SJAs blog – “Freethinker’s No Limit Weblog”! Both are linked in our Blogroll (easily found at Home Plate).

If you know of other interesting links, especially baseball, I’d sure love to include them!

  86. 87 CL December 10, 2007 at 9:59 am

Hey, Hillbilly! Finding just the right avatar is fun. Some work, some don’t. The first one jimmy posted just didn’t look like him at all; too dark and he forgot to smile. Now this second one shows all his stitches (what happened??). Takes time to get it just right!

    Have a great day! 🙂

  87. 88 journalistjimmy December 10, 2007 at 10:24 am

journalist will be happy to help bloggers with photo selections. it is true that jimmy smith’s first photo was too dark and looked much like idi amin. the next photo made jimmy smith look like carrot top. then, like baby seal. this photo seems to be the best jimmy smith can come up with.

  88. 89 CL December 10, 2007 at 10:25 am

When do you get the stitches out, jimmy? What happened, anyway?

  89. 90 mrgil December 10, 2007 at 10:43 am

For some of you who might be interested, this is a link to one of the blogs I find most interesting, I have been reading this young man’s post since the beginning of the Iraq war. If you have no interest then skip it, but I think he is very enlightening. He is very honest with his assessments. Gil…..

  90. 91 mrgil December 10, 2007 at 10:44 am

Oopps… forgot the link. it is http://healingiraq.blogspot.com/

  91. 92 CL December 10, 2007 at 11:00 am

Aha! Found a way to get effects such as bold, italics, etc in posts. Write it, post, then edit. The edit page gives you those options.

May be an easier way but that’s the one I found so far. Anybody found anything easier?

DISREGARD…..sorry….. my screen shows an edit option, didn’t realize it wasn’t generally available.

    sigh….. 😦

  92. 93 journalistjimmy December 10, 2007 at 11:57 am

yes, CAROLINA LADY, jimmy smith has an idea.

and now, baseball . . . royce ring. remember that name.

and also, remember this name. seguchi nakamama.

  93. 94 lew614 December 10, 2007 at 12:00 pm

And to think I thought y’all had a;ready disappeared. Imagine that- a new page. Keep Wurlitzer as Wurlitzer. Where did the name come from, anyway? I can draw more. JJS-Was drawing Glavine portrait (unsuccessfully) and all that was in my head was Cold Ring Finger-sung to the tune of Goldfinger from James Bond. Oh The Humanity. I will never view him the same-may never be able to draw him, either. See what thou hast wrought, Oh Esteemed Journalist?

  94. 95 CL December 10, 2007 at 12:00 pm

    Don’t you just love it!

    Hi, jimmy! Idea? 20 Questions?

  95. 96 CL December 10, 2007 at 12:02 pm

Hey, Lew! Snowed in up there? 75 and sunny here…… (sorry…) 🙂

I haven’t checked baseball news yet; anything going on today?

  96. 97 Bob, journalist December 10, 2007 at 12:08 pm

    Gill, thanks for the Link!

My Lady, I’m not sure those just posting comments have the option of editing but it appears that many HTML tags are allowed.

  97. 98 CL December 10, 2007 at 12:11 pm

Hey, Bob! Oh, didn’t realize that. I only have this one view; didn’t know the edit option wasn’t generally available. Many thanks for that! OK, back to the drawing board!

I’ve been testing various things and it seems that HTML works just fine. I tried writing a quick reference page for it, but the format will take more time than I have this morning. Appointments and errands this afternoon.

Hope you and Carol are both doing well today!

  98. 99 lew614 December 10, 2007 at 12:14 pm

No Ma’am-We had a foot last week (no toes) and two inches last night. The roads never closed. The only bad thing was two plows of my driveway at $30 a pop. Anything over four inches costs me money!!!!The snow tires can handle four inches with no problem. It IS cold, though. Have to feed the birds, too. The turkeys should be by soon for their daily meal.

  99. 100 lew614 December 10, 2007 at 12:17 pm

Kathy goes in for surgery on her ankle Friday and will be out of commission for a few weeks. Have to convert the living room into her office so she can work without having to move from the sofa. We’ll put the tree up this week so she doesn’t have to mess with it and a cast. We broke down and bought an HD TV for ourselves for CXhristmas. It’s totally amazing-I never realized they actually had the scores of games on the screen until this week. My poor right eye appreciates the clarity!!

  100. 101 CL December 10, 2007 at 12:21 pm

Hey, Lew! 2″ closes this area down. Nobody has any snow equipment. Thankfully we rarely have to deal with the stuff. In Dec ’89 we had 18″ of snow and it was a disaster! Nothing could move, including emergency vehicles. Snowed for 3 days/nights non-stop then the temps went down to the all-time record of 0. Took a long time for it to all melt.

Food AND water is very important to all birds. When it gets cold enough to freeze, I put out fresh water several times a day for them.

Savannah Guy was wanting to borrow some crayons from you. Trying to make his avatar, I think.

And jimmy really needs some help!

  101. 102 Bob, journalist December 10, 2007 at 12:23 pm

Lew, you could be in Oklahoma … methinks the whole state is closed down, a bit of ice I hear … it’s upper 60s here in Nashville, overcast with some rain … 70s tomorrow.

Anyone know anything about Kosuke Fukudome?

  102. 103 CL December 10, 2007 at 12:23 pm

Give Kathy a big hug from me and my wishes for her quick recovery!

Enjoy that TV!! I haven’t watched TV in so long I couldn’t tell you what is on. Mother keeps our (regular) TV on Hallmark or Animal Planet from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. I know most scripts of Matlock and Little House on the Prairie by heart! 🙂

  103. 104 thesouthernjackass December 10, 2007 at 12:25 pm

mrgil…on these wordpress blogs…the administrator has the option of accepting or rejecting any bloggers’ initial post…if the administrator does reject any bloggers’ initial post…this essentially means that this particular blogger is banned from posting at any time…however, once the administrator accepts a bloggers’ initial post… that blogger may post at will…but the administrator still has the option of deleting any post…or banning any blogger from posting…at any time…this allows the host to pick and choose who may blog on their site…I don’t believe the AJC has that option…either way…this blog is bound for success…

  104. 105 CL December 10, 2007 at 12:33 pm

SJA, the success of our little blog depends on each of us, I think. I really like the Administrator’s options; some other blog could take lessons! 🙂

And I’m depending on all of y’all for suggestions, ideas, etc. This is OURS, not mine. I just got it launched. 🙂

Gotta go until later this afternoon – appts and errands. In heavy traffic. 😦

  105. 106 lew614 December 10, 2007 at 12:38 pm

Ma’am-The only time we had any trouble with snow here was last February 14 when I tried to go to Spring Training. 34 inches closed things down for a few hours. It was snowing so hard you couldn’t really drive, anyway. The motel where I was filled up overnight with truckers who knew better than to drive in it. The restaurants were delivering food by lunch-it quit snowing around 9 am. They know how to deal with it here.

  106. 107 arkansashillbilly December 10, 2007 at 12:45 pm

Lew, I thought you ,especially, would appreciate this one:

“FASS TRACK: Surprisingly, the Mets were interested enough in the idea of bringing aboard veteran lefhander Jeff Fassero to have him throw for scouts. Fassero, who turns 45 next month, was out of baseball last season and will gear up for an attempted comeback by playing in the Mexican winter league. ”

  107. 108 arkansashillbilly December 10, 2007 at 12:49 pm

    Oh, and Lew,

While you’re fighting snow and feeding the frozen turkeys in Vermont, I’m swatting mosquitos (skeeters) and dodging snakes in South Arkansas. As a struggling and frustrated hunter, I’d gladly switch climates with you. Man, should not have to sweat while stringing up Christmas lights…..Just ain’t right.

  108. 109 savannahguy December 10, 2007 at 1:01 pm

DOB’s blog is down and can’t be accessed. Chop Chick has a brand new blog. Pappa’s got a brand new bag. Hmm…

  109. 110 lew614 December 10, 2007 at 1:27 pm

Don’t go getting all warm and tingly. DOB’s blog probably exceeded 1000 posts. He’ll likely post a new one soon.

Hillbilly-Hunting season has already ended up here. You’re lucky you can still look for dinner. I understand snake is supposed to be good (you won’t ever catch ME eating it, though).

  110. 111 arkansashillbilly December 10, 2007 at 2:07 pm

Fried Rattlesnake strips are excellent. It’s clean white meat and it’s textured much like shrimp.

  111. 112 journalistjimmy December 10, 2007 at 2:09 pm

lew, hang around with a snake and that snake will bite. happened before -will happen again. and snake in the grass. and snake for two. and snake pudding. and chop chick is asking for suggestions to improve the chop chick blog. oh, the humanity!

and lew can draw wurlitzers here, too? perhaps for quality posts and perhaps for quality toe journalism? and bloggers now blogging here have been described as “defectors”. hmmm… how about discriminators? or maybe, choosy. choosy is as choosy does. no, not chewsy. different word.

and political banter on the chop chick blog but no one there to monitor. should let frankster come in and berate and demean the blogger. then, banish that blogger.

oh, golly? gee? oh, nevermind. and why will journalist bob never say golly or gee?

and what is gee? oh, say can you see? gee? good golly, miss molly. your the best. admire you’re work.

and what manner of man says gee to another man? gee whillikers.

howdy doody. that’s right, howdy doody! “”Aw, golly gee whillikers, Mr. Bluster, your the best!” from famous howdy doody. head made of wood.

  112. 113 mrgil December 10, 2007 at 2:24 pm

Good afternoon all. Man, yard work sucks… literally. Sometimes I really regret clearing an extra two acres. Now it will take about three days for me to recover enough to sleep more than 3 hours at a time.

CL, We have about the same amount of snow annually as you do, well anyone who live 1/4 mile south of me anyway. Funny but I often get snow when those south of 295 get rain. Can always tell when a snow storm is about to hit, all of the milk and bread within 100 miles of Richmond will be stripped from the shelves.

The Chop Chic has announce she is flying the coop until spring training. I guess the success was too much for her.

Lew, I had the same problem as you. It was not until late last night I discovered the secret door to page two. Cost me a Wurlitzer too, by the time I could answer your question some other fleet footed soul had sent the answer.

A question for all…… If God gave us one mouth and two ears so we would listen more and talk less, why did he give us two eyes and ten fingers with which to type?

  113. 114 mrgil December 10, 2007 at 2:38 pm

Have a great snake story…. This past spring when I went to the tool shed, I noticed a black rat snake moving from under the table saw towards the edge of the barn, she was quite large and I had seen her in the chicken coop several times previously, helping herself to the eggs. I didn’t think too much of it as she was moving away from me and then I looked down at my feet and there was the head of the snake. WOW, I thought, that is a BIG snake, then I realized it was a second snake.

One is nearly 6 foot long and the other is about 5 feet. One thing I don’t have too many of are mice and chip monks. The wife is somewhat reluctant to go in the shed for anything however. I have some pictures if anyone is interested.

As long as they stay out of the house I don’t have a problem with them.

  114. 115 savannahguy December 10, 2007 at 3:02 pm

Lew: “Don’t go getting all warm and tingly.”

There is no blog or website (or computer for that matter) that could possibly make me warm and tingly. My post wasn’t a commentary nor was it an “eye spy” intended either, I just reported about DOB/Chick blogs when I discovered it. ’twas just a statement of fact for those that might be interested.

Actually there was a website that was warm and tingly, and, uh…nevermind. That was during a lightning storm. Nothing sexy about a fried motherboard.

Speaking of fried, snakes are supposedly good eating, though I’ve never tried one. Was told it tasted like a cross between chicken and fish. So I went and bought some chicken and fish. Not bad at all.

  115. 116 lew614 December 10, 2007 at 3:22 pm

Well-Snake may be acceptable to some, but I have much fat I can live off of before I must resort to reptile. Don’t care for gator, either (probably because I’m a loyal Dawg), though I have eaten Gator chili.

Esteemed Journalist-Yes, Wurlitzers can be offered here as well-The Bionic Artist has not left anywhere. I am still all present. I can do art for the needy and y’all, too. I am multitalented. As a former Minister once said in a sermon-Makes little sense to wash the clean clothing. It’s the dirty shirts that are in need of laundering. We all do what we can.

  116. 117 flbravesgirl December 10, 2007 at 3:33 pm

Hi, y’all. Glad to see my friends gathered here. Thanks so much for putting this together, CL.

You’re going to have to be patient with me since I am having a lot of computer issues. A new computer will be arriving soon but ’til then there may be times when I don’t show up for a while because this one’s on the blink. For example, this is my third attempt at posting a greeting here. Arrgghh!

  117. 118 journalistjimmy December 10, 2007 at 3:54 pm

flbravesgirl, this journalist can help flbravesgirl with the photo. the one flbravesgirl is using looks too much like lew. and chop chick has asked for suggestions to improve the chop chick blog and has signed off until spring. not sure it was chop chick that kept that baby running (2 weeks at a time, remember). oh, well, this is such a nice blog site and, unlike chop chick, carolina lady provides cupcakes for all. are getting your cupcakes, right? we must develop this into a powerful baseball blog. already, jimmy smith is in negotiations to bring a famous braves player here to blog. one syllable blogger but that’s okay. “i have a ranch. it is a big ranch. i like my ranch. and i like uh, you.”

  118. 119 lew614 December 10, 2007 at 4:02 pm

See Deer run. Run Deer, run. See me shoot the deer. Uh, Deer not run now.

  119. 120 CL December 10, 2007 at 5:14 pm

jimmy smith!! I want a word with you!

Went to collect the mail today. Big box. From Georgia. Heavy, too.

    “What on earth?!”, I said.

    Well, I found out.

Then I found that I had missed this part of one of your previous posts:
“now, results of huntin’ trip . . . bagged two blue worms. one a thirty pounder. signed and in the mail to carolina lady.”

    OH, the humanity!!!!

The mail substation is now closed for repairs.

  120. 121 CL December 10, 2007 at 5:17 pm

    FBG!! Welcome, Welcome!!!

(See, guys! I told you someone special was joining us!)

Sure hope you get that machine fixed soon; we’ve missed you!

  121. 122 savannahguy December 10, 2007 at 7:11 pm

arkansashillbilly > I finally got the magnifying glass out and saw that it was a buck you had as your avatar. Looked like a nice one. 18″ spread? Now I see you have a big ‘ol Tom. Bet you called him up (insert cell phone joke here).

I know what you mean about hunting in the warm weather. It just ain’t right. I get grief from my hunt club mates for waiting until after the rut when it cools down. A few years ago I actually got out of the stand at prime time and went back to the shed because about 10,000 mosquitos were all over me and I was sweating in 80 degrees. It’s supposed to be fun and that wasn’t.

If it isn’t cool I don’t go. Besides, the big trout are biting and that’ll do just fine for outdoor life. Hey, I would gladly take Lew’s weather for a month and be very happy about it. More than that, not so much. I’ll bet Lew would also be happy to trade for a month or so.

Thanks for the invite to this little corner of the ‘Braves’ new world! Sorry for being so slow, but I do appreciate you keeping me in the loop. Nice to know where everyone is ‘meetin’ and greetin”.

I wasn’t exactly sure how I could log on since my old moniker has been absconded with already, but then I recalled the inimitable Bob, J and his unique way of calling me out! Hey, Salt(y) by any other name is still

Salty!! Boy, am I glad to see you!! Welcome, sir!!

Yeah, we’re staking out a little place for ourselves. And it’s OUR blog – all of us together.

BobJ and SJA have their own great blog spots. Links are under our Blogroll on the Home Plate page (link near top of each page).

This has been a learning experience with a very, very sharp learning curve! This Lady had never even attempted anything like this before, so bear with me as I fumble my way through! Ideas and suggestions are welcomed with open arms! 🙂

    Welcome home!

savannah has confused this journalist once again. prefers the bite of a trout to the bite of a mosquito? trout bite can be traumatic. depends on where the trout bites. waders, right? best advice from this journalist is to wear waders. shouldn’t need waders in a deer stand – but shouldn’t have a trout problem there, either.

and, another blogger has contacted jimmy smith about returning to frankster’s blog. ain’t gonna happen. old times are old times. let frankster enjoy the new pulse frankster seems to favor. faint though it may be. frankster says frankster is doing just fine without oh, say, 17 bloggers by now. soon, carolina lady will have all frankster’s denizens except the your and idiot crowd. golly, gee.

and now, good toe health is important to performing on the baseball field. good toes, good baseball. bad toes, bad baseball. toes are not to be trifled with.

jimmy smith urges the atlanta braves organization (reading this frank?) to hire a good toe man to look at the toes of this team. no telling what kind of toes guys like jair and gorkys and jo jo and corky and such may have. and the greatest toe risk on the team? uh, that’s right. not sure how many toes but at least 2 pair of socks. and will the cobblers at mizuno have a new answer for the new season? something in a buck, perhaps? something that may be autographed and sold to little fans?

and now, cold ringfinger. lew, allow this journalist to help. blue finger. that’s right, blue finger would portray cold ringfinger. use blue-violet crayola #16 and remember to stay inside the lines.

now, cold ringfinger, cold heart. cold heart, cold interview. cold interview, no sports news. no sports news, ajc. oh, what a vicious circle!

and this from arthur blank: “you know, you know, you know . . .” oh, the humanity! it must be catching. educated man with you know, a you know problem. better keep better company.

and flbravesgirl is having computer problems. sad to learn but jimmy smith is very happy that flbravesgirl is not having oven problems. most important that the oven be working properly at this time of year. oven and the usps (hint, hint).

francoeur’s franks. mccann’s cans. what will gorkys’ be? first thing that comes to mind: fat girls. not a good marketing idea. must come up with some better ideas. maybe gorkys will blog with us.

Nice to see that everybody is well. Thanks for the invite. I would love to stick around for a while, but my sister-in-law has a broken snow blower….not a good thing to have in Utah in the Winter.

What’s the deal with the Chop Chick blog?

  126. 127 cuwayne December 10, 2007 at 7:44 pm

  130. 131 CL December 12, 2007 at 7:03 pm

Bob, it seems the colors work only in the administrator’s mode. It’s a mystery to me! 🙂

Anyhow, come on over to p3 which is journalist jimmy’s first blog page!
